The Seventh Month of Pregnancy

Peace in Nazareth and a United Home

Today, October 25th, marks the Seventh Month of the Virgin Mary's pregnancy carrying the Baby Jesus. Having overcome their initial trials and deep uncertainty, the Holy Family is now living in profound peace under the same roof in Nazareth. Saint Joseph and the Virgin Mary share the sweet daily routine of a fully established marriage in accordance with the laws and customs of the time.

After accepting the angel's message, Saint Joseph lovingly steps into his role as guardian of the Redeemer (Mt 1:24), knowing that the Baby Jesus who continues to grow inside the Virgin Mary's womb is the Son of God. In this simple home, still unaware of the Roman Empire's census that will eventually take them to Bethlehem, life unfolds with the joyful expectation that the Savior will be born right there.

This month, let us ask the Holy Family to bless our homes, teaching us to trust blindly in God's timing, even when surprises along the way are yet to come.

Realistic image capturing a 1st-century A.D. domestic scene in Nazareth. In the foreground, the Virgin Mary, in her seventh month of pregnancy with a noticeably large belly, sits on a low stool weaving on a small hand loom. She wears a blue tunic and a cream-colored headscarf. Beside her, Saint Joseph, a young bearded man, stands next to a rustic window in a stone and adobe wall, using a wooden hand plane to finish a carpenter's bench he is crafting. The background shows a rustic courtyard with textured walls, terracotta pots, a large storage jar, a wicker basket with tools, and an olive branch overhead. Soft autumn sunlight bathes the scene, creating an atmosphere of peace and quiet everyday life.
